Greeks from Schwab
Where this comes from
Originator and date
AlertKeeper's maker, 10/14/2026: delta and theta beside each open option on Positions, from the broker's own option chain, once the user connects Schwab.
Industry sources read
Schwab's Market Data API, its option chains (api.schwabapi.com/marketdata/v1/chains: for an underlying, a side and an expiry, each strike's quote with its delta and theta). Yahoo Finance's chains have no greeks, which is why this waited for the broker connection.
What prompted it
Trading options from a service's recs: how much a position moves with the stock, and what each day takes off it, beside the position itself.
What we changed and why
Nothing in Schwab's numbers: delta and theta as the chain gives them, read once a day with the accounts, one chain per underlying, expiry and side. Only the greeks come from Schwab; every price on Positions, the charts and Exit Timing still comes from the price source in Settings → Prices (Yahoo Finance). Without the Schwab connection, no greeks are shown. Information, not advice.
Our own evidence
`tests/test_schwab_api.py`: a stood-in chain gives an open option's delta and theta, which Positions then shows; a contract the chain doesn't list shows none. Not yet run against Schwab itself.
